While many people take advantage of a three day weekend by leaving town - if you decided to stick around Tucson here are some things that are happening today:
The Annual Labor Day Picnic in the park at Reid Park Bandshell. The event honors working families and union members and is open for everyone to enjoy hot dogs, musical acts, dancers, labor history exhibits, children activities and fun games. From 10am until 2pm the admission is free.
The annual Labor Day Run at Saguaro National Monument kicks off running season in Tucson! The event is an 8 mile loop around the monument and starts at 6:30am. There is a $50 prize for the best video chronicle of the event so get on your running shoes and bring your video!
Sonoita Labor Day Rodeo - an old west rodeo that includes timed events, barrel racing, wild horse racing and more. Head out to the Sonoita (Santa Cruz) Fairgrounds off Highway 82 (where it's 10-15 degrees cooler today!) and enjoy the event. The event starts today at 1:00pm!
Whatever you do today - enjoy your weekend and please do not drink and drive. There are many options available to get you home safe including a unique service offered by a Tucson real estate agent who, in tough times, opened a business called Entourage Transportation Group LLC and they "deliver drunks to their homes in their own cars"! And as usual Yellow Cab of Tucson offers free cab rides today and any day of the year. Don't take a chance - call for a ride.
