Woke up early - jumped online to read the latest news here in Tucson. Of course - the big news - UA Football Coach was fired. The hunt is on for a new coach. You could say, some are in trauma over this recent incident. But, they'll triage it and move on to the next!
Other trauma news today down by the UA - well be hearing military helicopters all morning and part of the afternoon as the University Medical Center participates in the mock exercise for Angel Thunder Personnel and Recovery and Rescue. A variety of federal, state and local agencies are participating in the fifth annual exercise, which is being coordinated by the U.S. Air Force and will involve over 40 mock patients with a variety of injuries.
The University Medical Center is the only Level 1 trauma center in southern Arizona and the goal for this exercise is to improve the system and correct any problems that currently exist. The hospital remains open and ready for real world patients - but the other trauma to be aware of is increased noise and traffic in the area.
Here's to Tuesday in Tucson!
