Dillinger Days Tucson Arizona

Every January marks the capture of John Dillinger Reinactment by professional SAG Actors in Tucson Arizona.

Anyone that know Eddie will recognize him in the picture as one of John Dillinger"s (alias Jon Minks) right hand men John Hamilton. It also shows us that Real Estate Agents can wear many hats!!!!!

The Congress Hotel dates from the early days of donwtown Tucson and is also an Historic Landmark

For anyone that is visiting the area, the capture is an all day event that takes place around the historic Congress Hotel and Train Station, two of Tucson's most notorious landmarks.

(Anyone that follows Western History will remember that the train depot was where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday

made an honest corpse of Frank Stilwell after Virgil Earp was injured, and Morgan Earp was fatally shot in Tombstone. The Train Station is now a national Historic Landmark and was recently renovated to its former grandour.)

The Congress Hotel was where the fire broke out that lead to the arrest of John Dillinger's gang, and ultimately John Dillinger himself, who had come to Arizona to escape from the heat of being caught from robberies in Chicago and its surrounding area.

The Tucson police had done in five hours what law enforcement agencies all over the Midwest had been unable to do in four months.

Dillinger Days features several reinactiments per day, and also an old car rally of cars from the Dillinger Era.
