Four Wheel Buggy Does Gig at the Tucson Folk Festival

4 Wheel Buggy, a Tucson Folk GroupMusic adds spice to life, and we love performing. Today was the first of two days of folk music here in Tucson.

The Tucson Folk Festival takes over the center of the city for two days each spring.

We performed at three o'clock this afternoon at one of the five venues, the Old Town Artisans.

Left to right, Frank Hartline, Larry Morris, yours truly and our songwriter and lead performer, Jim Hogan.

This is the group practicing in a parking lot an hour before our gig. The beautiful young lady is our Fiddler's daughter. She and her husband are about to graduate from the U of A, where the youngsters are music majors. He plays the french horn, so we couldn't fit him in at the Folk Festival. LOL

The place was packed, but I don't know if we had any Active Rainers present. I do know we had a blast!

Mike - I LOVE folk festivals! My Granddad was a fiddler and he used to do fiddler conventions..I'm a bluegrass junkie...and it was so much fun! My kids hate bluegrass..I think you either get the gene or you don't! LOL  Looks like you all had a great time and the weather looked fantastic!

Mike, anytime you can play music it's a great day. What kind of guitar are you playing on the indoor photo? It looks like you're playing an ovation on the outdoor photo. I bought a Taylor a few months ago. I try to play an hour every day. It keeps the stress levels down.

Great Post!

Hey, Mike - Sounds like a whole lotta fun was had by all.  We have a huge bluegrass festival every year down in Anderson.  There are more folks down there at the end of July than you can shake a stick at.

Jesse,

Anderson, AK?  That would be a fun trip for a desert rat in July.  Sounds like it's worth a post or two from you.

Michael,

The classical guitar in the photo is Diasonic from Japan.  Thanks for stopping by to comment!

Linda,

Bluegrass is a favorite of mine as well. The weather was not too hot, and we had a ball!

Susie,

We had a great time!

Doreen,

A lot of people came down from the Phoenix area for this, including one of the main organizers.  She's been doing the Folk Festival for 23 years, I think she said.

Kent,

We were playing a very fast instrumental, and I was concentrating.  I'm just glad the camera didn't catch me with my tongue between my teeth!  LOL
