Less then 2 hours east of Vancouver, nestled between the Cascade and Coastal mountains of Hope - lie the pristine blue waters of Kawkawa Lake.
Scattered around the shores of Kawkawa is a small community of lakefront cottages.........offering one of the last frontiers for affordable waterfront properties ....
This Day-Trippers haven offers so many activities include water skiing, tubing, swimming......a maze of wilderness hiking trails and you can even drop a line and fish for Kokanee (which can be 3.5 lbs and bigger!
The word Kawkawa is a poetic Native term that means 'much calling of loons.' Repeat it often enough and you'll get the picture.
Much of the shoreline is still wooded and free of development. Although during the summer months, especially the weekends, Kawkawa receives heavy use, fishermen and canoeists can find solitude in the cove near the southeast side as well as the northwest bay of the lake.
Visitors to the park often journey here as part of a visit to the Coquihalla Canyon Recreation Area and the Othello-Quintette Railway Tunnels, part of the Trans Canada Trail in the Coquihalla Canyon.
If you're thinking you might like a little cottage nestled on the lake...give me a call!

A beautiful lake Liz, and for me I really like the map to orient yourself. I think you said you always wanted to be a photographer. You have arrived my friend.
Liz, these shots are beautiful and they (you) make me want to be there! Wow. If I could talk my Texan husband into a move this could be calling my name. Later in the rain~DEb
How much do these lakefront properties run, Liz? What's your best deal?
Liz - That looks like a hidden gem! It reminds me of some lakes that I have spent time at in Northern California. Thank you for the photos, the beautiful.
Gary thank you! Yes I think the maps are particularly useful for my neighbours to the south! :-) And thank you so much for the encouragement re the 'photography'...:-)
Deb -You'd love it! But then I've always wanted to go to Texas! :-) I'll e-mail you a selection of listings..:-) Thank you for the like to the Waterfront Properties site!
Robert - I love northern california and oregon - although there its the ocean that makes me ohhh and ahhh.........thanks for visiting and commenting on the photography! Its special coming from a photographer - thank you!
LIz...I agree with Gary about your photography, and as always your photos are a temptation to go back to New England, especially Maine near St. Stephens, New Brunswick Canada. Actually last night I was contemplating such a decision, but pushed it out of my head at least for the time being.
Thank you Paul...:-) You're sounding really homesick to me........what took you to Tulsa in the first place? What about a driving vacation to Maine?...........Why push it out of your head?
Liz, What gorgeous pictures, it looks like a little piece of heaven right there!
Carole - I know...:-) sometimes you have to take a deep breath and just pinch yourself.......its not even tv! :-)
