British Columbia's Gulf Islands

British Columbia's Gulf Island are really fantastic. I was just reading in the paper this morning about the perfect trip for people out side of BC and the best thing for them to see and the article said Sailing the Gulf Islands was the fines thing someone could do in BC.

No kidding I could not agree more, some mornings when I wake up I have to pinch myself just to see if it's true, do I really live in paradise. The Southern Gulf Islands in which Salt Spring is the biggest consist of a small group of island between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. These island are really pristine and have been left out of the North American development craze.

The islands are governed by the Island Trust and there mandate is to preserve and protect. I'm all for this the only down side is that with very little development aloud it has drive up home prices to the highest in Canada. For an example of our prices I have a listing that is a 450 sq ft cabin on 1/2 an acre and you can buy it for $399k it has a water view but and it is a deal for here but it sure makes it hard for people to move here.

The good news is that the Island Trust is not about to make any more land available for development and prices will go up even higher as the boomers retire.
