What do you want this year? More clients? More money? Better health? More time with family? Less stress? More AR points?
I would suggest that most (if not all) of us want these things and more, don't we? Deep down we can see these in our minds eye... And it all begins with a dream, a plan...
This is the beginnning of a new year and is a perfect time to reflect on the year that has been and plan for the year to come. Set your SMART goals:
Specific - make them clear, easy to understand. Perhaps it's 5 phone calls to various clients per day or 1 lunch with a client per week....remove any 'fluff', create a 'dream board' of pictures and thoughts that stir your soul.
Measurable -set a target. How will you know if you've reached your goal? And, there should be points along your journey to measure how far you have come. Keep logs in a daytimer and track your progress.
Attainable - goals should stretch you or get you out of your comfort zone but still be possible for you. Setting a goal to match Donald Trump's business in the coming year is not reasonable - at least not for me.
Realistic - similar to above, does the goal make sense in the big picture and is it do-able? Does it really make sense for your business and you as a person?
Timely - what's the timeframe? This week? This year? I like to break down a large goal into bite-sized pieces per week. But that's me.
Dreams do come true - if you want them to and plan for them.
