Kelowna Home Staging Living Spaces Interior Design ...MY PRO MEME

The 'Meme', for public understanding is 'Active Rain's' idea of 'tag', the purpose being, getting to know others in this 65,000+ network. This my 5th, thanks to Martin Abeshaus I decided to publish my career journey.

staged family / great room dining

Academic Studies - A 'visual' girl, I dreamed sugar plum fantasies of exquisite interiors. Academic studies in the sciences were fascinating - math is beautifully the only precise science - you can always count on it! However I couldn't see that I would want to work in academia.

Design Studies - For a brief fortunate period, Interior Design at Okanagan College was facilitated by a brilliant graduate of design and engineering, who crammed her 5 years of university into a two year program. It was hard work, before Auto-Cad - the old way of drafting and design. The yield was enormous. for which I have been ever grateful.

Art - Design principles and elements are universal. Studies in design led naturally into art. Raku Fired hand-built sculptural forms became my specialty. I produced, sold to galleries and taught from my studio.

Business Sales Marketing - From Design Studies and business courses, I worked in various aspects of interiors - window coverings, furniture, design assistant, art & accessories, gaining excellent knowledge of business procedures. A solid business foundation led to consultation, space planning, outfitting and arrangement in Interior Design and Property Presentation (staging) for locals and international property owners.

Volta Cafe Kelowna BC - Living Spaces Interior Design & Staging

Volta Cafe - the manifestation of a longtime dream. A critical milestone, drove me to no longer put off and maybe never do some things. I finally allowed myself to manifest the 'people place' I'd dreamed many years. Volta was a magnificent adventure in Kelowna's Cultural District.

The Old World flavours of exposed old brick and scarred fir floors were given new life by the best customers in the world. Actors, artists, writers, dancers among many local and international profiles, met over Mediterranean fare and delicious Fair Trade Organic Coffee. The shop supplied dance shoes to BC dancers and the walls merchandised art. Volta was the expressive vehicle for my creativity.

In 2007 I decided to return to Staging and Interior Design. The real estate field has evolved considerably, since previously presenting properties. Awareness of the value has increased demand of services.

Deborah Pearce of Living Spaces Design, Interior Designer Stager & Artist has an established business record with locals and internationals in various aspects of Interiors, Art, Business and Sales for over 20 years in Kelowna. Returning to Interiors & staging recently, she is pleased to again offer the specialized services of Property Presentation - Staging.

You may use the contact link here above right or at Living Spaces website for services. Also find here many articles on staging and interiors.

Very nice getting to know you.  Also, great to reinvent yourself from time to time.

Deborah, You've had a variety of careers as well....and quite an education.  It is a love of the ARTS we share, I can see art in almost everything and it facinates me!  Wonderful MeMe, I have been tagged twice again and have been putting it off :(

Deborah, you failed to mention that you are a very TALENTED artist!  Who woulda thunk you liked math? :-)

Deborah - Nice Meme! Sounds like you have got some great "back story!"

Deborah - I really enjoyed your journey through your MEME.  Thank you for sharing.

I love th coffe shop.  It sounds like you have a lot of irons in the fire.  You must have a lot of energy!

Deborah    How fun it is to see your professional journey.   As always, you show us that dreaming is not only possible - but making them come true even more so!    Love all the inspiration you pour into your posts!

BTW - I've already "clicked" this moring as I have every morning since your previous post.

Have a FANTASTIC day!

Renee - thanks for your comment - yes I reinvented myself and career sevral times over by this point - makes for an interesting life!

Yes Carole - quite a variety - a mutable career - I like variety and change. Art is very wonderful expression Carole - nothing like it. Art is like a window into the possibilities of creativity! I understand putting off doing meme's - this was on hold awhile.

Deborah,

I didn't realize this was your 5th.  Oops!  It is a good one though!  Volta looks amazing and just like the place I would enjoy a coffee.

Welcome back to staging!

Well now Terry I did mention my art - thanks for your unswerving dedication, but I think it may be just a tad big-headed to refer to myself that way!

yeah loved math biology, - go figure - that was in the days when I thought I wanted a science - related career.

Thanks hon!

Great to hear from you Julianna! Some back story yes, back in the days before staging was even called what it is.

Hi Deborah.  What a great MEME!  Such an exiting journey.  Volta sounds like my kind of place. "The Old World Flavours of exposed old brick and scarred fir floors were given new life by the best customeres in the world."  Sounds incredible!  I love the old stone and woods that have so much character and warmth, I feel at home in places like that, don't know why other than being around the builders in my family and loving the old buildings in the cities.  Last year my husband and I went to Prague.  The architecture and materials were so beautiful...hundreds of years old.  Thanks for sharing a very enjoyable read.  Sounds like you have many interests, talents and gifts and that is what makes life great!  I will definitely go to Volta when I make it to BC.  And thanks for the MEME!

Candy - or is it Candace? Great to hear from you - thank you for your lovely kind words. Good luck with your new slogan.

Hi Cindy - Thanks for your comments - glad you like the coffee shop it was won-nnderful but now it is past tense, so not so many irons and not so much energy!

Yup Martin my 5th - Volta was amazing - I believe yes indeed you would have liked the ambience, neighborhood, food and coffee. I still have customers who stop me on the street to tell me how much they miss it.

Thanks as always for commenting .......and for the meme ;))

Linda - Always a great day & a joy to hear from you! Glad you found inspiration here - I was just telling my story - again, another way, one more time! wahhooo! I'm riding the edge of your excitement traveling to London - and Paris!

..amd thanks so much again for clicking

Kathleen - you would have loved Volta I am certain - but I am definitely biased. I have a lovely memory that makes me smile - Volta is no more due to property development. Europeans and other travellers said it reminded them of Europe France, Germany, Italy, Montreal. They often thought I was from France or Montreal - Europe...

Your travel adventure to Prague sounds marvelous!!!

Thank you Jan for your kind words and for stopping by  - we each have our talents. If I were nearer I'd certainly be happy to help you out!

OK, I finally did it!  Here's my meme, and thanks for tagging me!

Hey Marlene! Great to hear from you - I have read your meme and you did a marvelous job! Congratulations - what an enjoyable read - so natural and personal - much appreciated!
