Real Estate Board Announces 2010-2011 President and Directors

Kelowna, BC - The Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board (OMREB) is pleased to announce the election of Brenda Moshansky of Peachland to the position of President for the 2010-2011 term. She was installed along with 11 Directors representing the Central Okanagan, North Okanagan and Shuswap Zones at OMREB's Annual General Meeting on March 9^th.

A REALTOR® since 1995, Moshansky has been with Coldwell Banker-Horizon Realty in Kelowna for nine years. Serving as a Director for the past five years, Brenda has been a member of OMREB since 1998, and previously the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. She replaces outgoing President Bob Cliffe of Sorrento who stays on as Past President.

"This is a challenging and exciting time to become President," Moshansky says. "I am very proud to represent the professional REALTORS® of the Okanagan, Shuswap and Revelstoke areas, and of the Board's role in furthering professionalism through continuing education. I fully support the many initiatives undertaken by our members to help improve the quality of life in all our communities."

"As President, I look forward to continuing to raise the profile of our Board locally and within the province while working with local governments and other stakeholders to enhance housing opportunities for families in the Board area," notes Brenda. "I am hopeful that improved affordability driven by low mortgage rates and moderate home prices will allow more first-time buyers to enter the market this year, and will encourage investors to develop more rental opportunities for those who are not in a position to buy. As consumer confidence strengths and the Okanagan moves towards economic recovery during 2010, more Buyers and Sellers will be able to reach their housing goals."

George Cwiklewski of Macdonald Realty in Kelowna was officially installed as the Vice President of the Board of Directors. George has been a Member of OMREB since 1994 and has served as a Director for four years.
