The Aliso Viejo Community Association Board of Directors will proceed with improvements to Aliso Canyon Community Park and repairs to drainage at Creekside Park.
The improvements to Aliso Canyon Community Park will include a basic dog park, small parking lot and trail connection to the existing sports field area. A dog park has been discussed within the community for approximately 10 years and will be a huge benefit to dog owners in the area.
AVCA has been maintaining Phase I of this park, located off of Wood Canyon Drive and Knollwood, which includes sports fields since Jan. 20, 2001.
The Creekside Park drainage repairs are being undertaken in an effort to make the park more playable, safer and open it up to user groups. Currently when it rains the park does not drain adequately and somewhat limits the ability for residents to utilize this park to its fullest potential.
The estimate for the proposed remediation/construction services is approximately $250,250.
AVCA says it looks forward to providing the community with this valuable upgrade at Creekside, which is approximately 18 gross acres located off of Cedarbrook and Aliso Viejo Parkway. AVCA has been maintaining Creekside Park since March 19, 1997.
For these projects, AVCA will utilize funds that the association has set aside specifically for parks and recreation improvements.
