A Mother's Day Bouquet is a fitting tribute to all moms, moms to be, and mom like people! I love to buy flowers and my husband likes to plant them. Notice I did not say he loves to plant them. Our yard always has some type of annual flower as our weather in Benicia, California allows us blooming plants anytime of the year. We have snapdragons and pansies positioned in the front and back yard. He planted over 200 bulbs last fall. The daffodils came up first with smiles on their face waving to passersby walking past our house.
The tulips came next and bloomed in reds, blues, and yellows. Our irises grew straight and tall but decided to hold on to their show later than usual. I noticed around our town the iris were blooming but not ours. Easter weekend, while we were camping they decided to peek open. Since then they have exploded with yellow, blue, white and even a very deep purple.
We enjoy the bright colors during the sunny days and the cloudy days we have in Benicia, California. Amongst the snapdragons, our Sterling rose is blooming. We got that as an anniversary gift from some cherished friends years ago. My husband does not like roses but does tolerate them for my sake. We have a total of four rose bushes. Two in the ground and two in planters. I know nothing about roses but sure love to watch them bloom. Despite my husband not liking roses, I will come home and he has vase of them on the table. Yep, it does sound like it is all about me in our garden.
My husband, twin daughters and nephew are making Mother's Day a special day for me by cooking and treating me like a princess! I even have a bouquet of flowers right outside our family room that I can enjoy for many days to comes.
This Mother's Day Bouquet is for you to enjoy too!
