Cardiff By The Sea, California "Kook Run" (5K & 10K) Will Be Held This Sunday, 2-5-12.

Local residents of Cardiff, California are preparing for the upcoming Cardiff Kook Run, which will take place on Feburary 5,2012, this will be the first Cardiff Kook run to be held. Participants can enter a 5K or even more daring a 10K and yes it includes a costume contest to recognize the famous festooning of the Cardiff Kook statue.

Registration is still open at cardiffkookrun.com. The 5K cost $30.00 and the 10K cost $40.00. Proceeds will benefit physical education programs at Cardiff Elementary, Cardiff parks and maintenance of the oft-maligned surfer status officially called magic carpet ride.

Check in begins at 7:30AM, at the Moonlight Beach parking lot. The 10K race starts at 8:30A.M., and the 5K and costume division starts at 9 A.M., the route goes down Second Street and then curves to Highway 101 but does not pass the Cardiff Kook.
