Don't forget the Clayton, California Saturday Farmers Market opens this Saturday, 5/9/09 at 9am and stays open until 1pm.
This is a great place to visit friends and neighbors and buy local produce. In these economic times, it's good to support our community farmers as much as possible.
Hope to see you there!

That is great, I wish I could come and join you. Remember, if you are ever hankering for a farmers' market before their season begins, come to Oakland and we can go to the one by my house that is open all year, or to SF to the ferry building - I love farmers' markets! Buying from local farmers' markets is green and delicious! Can't wait to see you next week at the green class at the Contra Costa Association of Realtors office!
Terrylynn, I think that the locally grown produce is just a different vegetable - or fruit - than what you find in a grocery store. Even one like Whole Foods! I am trying to get most of my produce and even meat at the local markets.
Taf, you need come get me so I can go too! I love Farmer Markets!
Hi Terrylynn, this is a great announcement for your community. I have had a hard time finding where these were around our area until a recent newspaper article came out and mapped them with the times across our area. Your blog post does an equal service letting people know this one just opened for business this Saturday. You can't beat the produce. So much better tasting than the grocery store.
Joey, you can come, anytime,,,just a hop skip and jump from Oakland...when you are in the area.
Patricia, yes, I agree, it tastes better and is better for us too. It's a new habit that I think it catching on everywhere...
Marey, ticket's in the mail...
Gary, right, quality, better taste, organically grown, a win win.
Terrylynn, this is what spring is all about:) There is nothing better than fresh veggies and fruits.
