Coronado had a median home price of $1,525,000 in 2007. This is $80,000 less than the median home price of $1,605,000 in 2006 which was the peak for Coronado home values. This is still a median Coronado home price gain of $675,000 from the 2002 median home price which was a mere $850,000. That's a gain of $675,000 over a 5 year period which even for San Diego standards is a big gain. Coronado Island, although it is attached to land to Imperial Beach by a strand of sand is very exclusive. The Coronado Strand has some great communities as well like the Coronado Cays which some of the homes and condos have their own private boat slips off of their patios.

The Hotel Del Coronado is probably what most people think of when they hear Coronado in San Diego. It is a wonderful hotel and I've stayed there many times over the past 3 decades. I lived in Coronado Shores in the late 80's and enjoyed my stay there very much. The Coronado beaches are wonderful and there is plenty of space to lay down your towel and catch some sun or take a dip in the Pacific Ocean. There are some great views out to Point Loma on the west side of the island and great Downtown San Diego City views on the east side of Coronado.
