The Culver City Downtown Business Association, in association with the businesses of downtown Culver City will be hosting Summer Block Parties in Downtown Culver City on the third Wednesday of every month from June - October. Summer Block Parties will feature special offers and free goodies from over 25 participating businesses throughout the downtown area, as well as outdoor entertainment and activities ranging from gallery openings to free poledancing lessons.
Participating businesses represent the very best of what downtown Culver City has to offer. Guests are invited to explore all the nooks and crannies of this pedestrian friendly neighborhood. As they walk through tree-lined streets, they will be able to taste food from the area's award-winning restaurants, sip wine and cocktails as the sun goes down, enjoy live music under the stars, get a massage and even take a picture with a unicorn!
"We were looking for the perfect way to invite everyone to experience Downtown Culver City" said Jessica Whaley, Executive Director of the Downtown Business Association "And we realized that nothing could be better than a summer stroll through this charming neighborhood with plenty of opportunities to sample our world-class food, enjoy a drink, check out art and live music and simply have a ball!"
Businesses will be offering different specials and activities throughout the summer. Future events may include large outdoor concerts, performances at the Downtown theatres and more extensive street closures. Businesses will also be encouraged to decorate their façade and patio in order to highlight the festive spirit of these events.
The Culver City Downtown Business Association (DBA) is led by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of downtown property and business owners and stakeholders whose purpose is to lead the development of downtown Culver City, while preserving its quality of life for those who live, work and play downtown. Once strictly a marketing organization when formed in 1998, the DBA has expanded its focus to providing a clean and well maintained downtown.
