Fullerton Oldest Church

This is Fullerton's Oldest Church, originally built in 1909 as a Methodist Church. This magnificent Craftsman Gothic-style church, is located on the corner of Pomona Avenue and Amerige Avenue.

Todays it's difficult to even imagine during the eary 1960's there were plans to demolish this spectacular structure to make room for a parking lot. As things turned out, it was too costly to demolish the building, so it was sold to the First Church of Religious Science.

Later the church suffered damage during the nearby Whittier earthquake in 1987. Fortunately the church was saved as a result of the communities commitment to save this spectacular structure.

Directly across the street on the opposite corner is the Fullerton's Baptist Church.
