We as real estate agents do not like to talk about this subject too much, especially in some areas. I (as well as my wife) feels very safe in Gilroy. It truly is a subjective measure of a community. I've noticed that Gilroy has spots of crime, perhaps due to shoplifting occuring at the Gilroy outlets or the local Gilroy WalMart, but overall, in my opinion, there is not major crime (a whole bunch of felonies) taking place in Gilroy, compared to other cities in the Bay Area.
