I have given my notice of resignation to Patrion Mortgage, effective June 1st, 2009.
I am taking a 3 month sabbatical. There's a good chance that at the end of this much-needed break I won't return to working in the real estate industry.
As you can imagine, this was a big decision for 'The Hemet Home Loan Guy' and for my family. Those who are close to me no doubt noticed my struggle with this decision over the last several months.
The projects that will receive my greatest attention during my sabbatical are my wife's amazing photography business, homeschooling our four incredible kids, moving my in-laws here to Aszterbaum Farm, deciding whether to continue my studies at Hope International University (towards teaching or ministry) and visiting a new monastic community to see what God is doing among the poor here in the U.S.
During my leave from the loan business, I want to strongly encourage you to turn to Hilary Wilkinson at Patrion Mortgage as your professional home loan consultant.
Hilary's phone number is 951.571.5756 and her email is hwilkinson@patrionmortgage.com. Please take a moment and add this to your phone or address book so that when you need help you can turn to her.
Hilary was my production assistant until she was promoted to Mortgage Loan Consultant five months ago. If I helped anyone with a loan these last several years, Hilary was instrumental in making sure it was a good experience. I trust her wholeheartedly to serve the Realtors, homeowners and homebuyers that I care about.
I want to thank all of my friends: Realtors, clients, credit union members, co-workers, my success team partners and my competitors in the mortgage business. The last six years have been a time of hard work, good friendship and personal growth.
Allow me to publicly and specifically thank the following people:
I can't list everyone...but please know that I thank God for all of you and wish you the best.
If you would like to keep in touch with me on a personal level, here is a link to my facebook profile.
Grace and peace,
Joey Aszterbaum

I don't know you and am new to AR but from the $100k points + u racked up here and a brief overview of your webpage I can tell you must have fought the good fight and definitely deserve to go out with an honorable discharge. Best of luck in future endeavors.
Joey, best wishes in whatever path and upcoming decisions you make. It's been a pleasure knowing you here on AR and hope that you'll still stop in from time to time.
Joey, I read this on an email alert from LinkedIn this morning.
Let me wish you much success in the coming months. I am sure you will have a clear direction after taking those few months off.
God Bless!
Joey. . having the advantage of making a decision like that and not disrupt your home's integrity is a blessing. .a lot of people I know would that the same if they could. .
Joey - Wow man, it's always hard to potentially lose one of the good guys. I wish you nothing but the very best in all future endeavors. Your family is blessed to have you a part of the equation.
May God give you clear direction on how to move forward!
Joey, we'll miss you on the rain. All the best to you and I'm sure you'll make a wise decision.
Joey - Listen to his whisper and you will find your path. You have completed one adventure in your journey and it has prepared you for the next. You will undoubtedly be successful at your next endeavor based on your success here at AR and in the mortgage industry.
Ahhh My Joey... In one way I am sorry to see you go, but in another, I know you wouldn't be doing this unless you felt the call of something greater for yourself and your family. A professional transition can be both cathartic and enlightening. I find myself in a similar place both professionally and personally, and I try to find the blessings in the chaos. Because they are lying there in wait :)
Don't lose touch please. Both Jason and I think the world of you and as he says, you really ARE one of the good guys. Which is saying a lot.
Be well my friend.
Hi Joey,
The mortgage industry's loss and whatever you choose to do's gain. I wish you and your family the best. Now, God speed.
Thank you guys! I love my AR friends and hope you all keep in touch.
