A Walk in the Park-Descanso Gardens, La Canada

As we begin the new year, it is time to take time to reflect on what to do for more balance in our lives. One way that might be beneficial is to take advantage of your neighborhood parks. In my neighborhood near my office at Dilbeck Realtors in La Canada, there are a number of parks that can give you a moment's peace on your lunch hour, or a place to walk your dog or play with your kids.

One such place is Descanso Gardens in La Canada-Flintridge. Today I took a walk there and had lunch. It was a beautiful winter day with very few people out so I had the picnic area all to myself. It was a great way to unwind, commune with nature, and get some exercise. I highly recommend this park to anyone who loves flowers. In the winter, their most popular area is the Camellia gardens. It is just amazing. There is a small entrance fee to visit the park, but the picnic area is free. While there, I ran into a business man eating his lunch, a grandma with toddler kids in tow, and a woman walking her golden retriever. All in all, a great way to spend a lunch hour.
