SST (Speechless Sunday with Text): What are they?

If you leave a comment, Russel will visit your blog and comment. My handy dandy new Canon Rebel XSi camera has me going to places that I have never been, or have not been in over 15 years.

One of those places is shown in the two pictures below.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to tell me what these are, and, no, they, are not pictures of the moon or Mars.

I'll give you a clue: There are not very many left on the coasts in the United States, but we do have two of them here in San Diego, one at the La Jolla Cove and one at Cabrillo National Monument.

The two pictures here are from the one at the La Jolla Cove, and if you're coming to the 2009 Convention for the National Association of Realtors in November, especially if you're bringing some children with you, I highly recommend checking out at least one of them -- the one at Cabrillo National Monument is closer to the Convention Center.

That's it I have to come to the convention! I read about the LaJolla cove in our last visit to San Diego and wanted to visit - gosh about 4-5 yrs ago now with my little guy. We ended up doing Legoland and Seaworld and ran out of time! I won't let the cat out of the bag - looks like Zoey is already out of the bag :) ~Rita

Haven't a clue.  But Zoey looks comfortable.

Tide pools!

?

Hmmm, the first one could almost be a jigsaw puzzle I think.

Aloha & best wishes

Hey, Rita - I'll be expecting you. In fact, come for the Convention and then simply skip the Convention, take it as a tax deduction, and go sightseeing and touring. I could even play docent for a day, at least.

Hey, Jack - We have a winner, but it's not you, so keep reading.

Hey, Candice - Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! I had to go look at your profile to see where you were, and it's not necessarily where you are, but where you have been -- Pasadena, San Bernardino, etc. Southern California!

Hey, Richard - It could be! The second one reminds me of the hot springs in Yellowstone Park. Just not as colorful.

We used to have sights like that on our beaches...camel tracks from Lawrence of Florence.

Hoe fun, a new camera! My husband was the same way when he got his Canon 50d.  Cool pictures!

Thanks for sharing the great photos.  I will definitely add Lajolla Cove to my list of places to visit while in San Diego for the Convention.
