Known for its fast, bentgrass greens, walk-on tee-times and verdant fairways, The Palms Golf Club stands apart from its esteemed La Quinta country club brethren. A haven for golf afficionados, the club extends its social privileges to all golf members, most of whom are single-digit handicappers.

Designed by resident Fred Couples with Brian Curley, the actual course was laid out on the grounds of a former date-palm orchard. The 18-hole course features 7,020 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. All 101 homes are built around the perimeter of the course, giving golfers and homeowners expansive views of fairways and the nearby Santa Rosa Mountains.

More than 2,000 date palms, 1,000 mesquite tree and producing citrus trees set the theme for this unique course. Three creeks meander through the course and players are given the choice of walking or riding.

Property at The Palms includes Golf Villas, semi-custom homes, custom homes and homesites.

The Golf Villas, built in the first phase of development, have east-facing views, 2- to 4-bedrooms, and range in size from 2,400 to 3,111 square feet.

Semi-custom homes were built from 2004 to 2008, offer 3- or 4-bedroom homes in four floorplans, and are located both on and off the course. Sizes range from 2,588 to 4,168 square feet.

Custom homes were built from 2002 to 2009, range from 3- to 5-bedrooms, and go up to 6,600 square feet. All have spectacular views.
