"Visionaries"

If you've ever complained that: "There's nothing to do in the mountains" - or nothing to do where you live...read on carefully.

An exceptional evening devoted to a gathering of fascinating people over gourmet foods and superb wine pairings will be held Saturday, October 24th, 2009, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lake Arrowhead Welcome Center - located at the intersection of Highway 189 and Daley Canyon in Agua Fria.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Mountains Community Hospital Foundation. Reservations are $75.00 per person. Seating is limited to 40. Contact Jan at 909-908-8520 or email jan@ILoveLakeArrowhead.com

Presented by Jan Skrentny, the first Visionary speaker will be five time Emmy award winning production designer and art director, Rene Lagler.

This will be the first time Rene, a long time mountain resident, will be discussing his much sought after design work which includes: The Olympics of 1984, The Papal Visit of 2008, the CNN sets in Atlanta, the Country Music Awards shows from 1991 through 2006, the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty in addition to Academy Award, Grammy and Emmy award shows, plus the sets and staging for 2,500 television and film programs from "Hollywood Squares" to "The View". Of late, Rene is also involved in the designing of churches throughout the world.

Married to singer, actress Gloria Loring, Rene will discuss his creative process, dealing with withering restrictions, limited funding and the creative sources for his imaginative design.

According to Jan Skrentny, the series originator and organizer, the idea for the Visionaries Series came from his times in Paris where he marveled at the splendor and importance of the Paris "Soirees": an intimate evening party or social gathering, especially one held for the purpose of a particular discussion (art, music, design, philosophy, construction, fashion, entertainment, athletics, environmental awareness, etc.) that featured fine food, refreshments and spirited conversation.

Hors d'oeuvres and wine pairings for the event will be by Kathleen Kirk and Loren Harris of Casual Elegance Catering in Agua Fria. Casual Elegance The

Restaurant also invites attendees to supper afterwards in their intimate and nearby surroundings. A portion of your meal bill will be donated to Hospital Foundation.

In addition, Jo Anna and Rob Fainberg of Galerie Mistral Fine Jewelry Design of Agua Fria will have a display of sumptuous stones and finished jewelry; a portion of the purchase price will also be donated to the Hospital Foundation.

Proceeds from the evening's event will be donated to the Hospital Foundation in the name of Suzette "Susie" Newman Fund, a long time patient in the Hospital's skilled nursing facility, who died three years ago of Alzheimer's disease.

The next event in the series will be held in mid-December and will feature eight time Iron-Man age-group champion, Cherie Gruenfeld who will talk about her mid-life realization - that she yearned to compete in (an accomplishment in itself) and win her age group in the most strenuous athletic competition of that time. Cherie will share her training regiment and fitness tips that allowed her to shatter world records in every age group she competed in.

Presenter Jan Skrentny is a five time Emmy award winning Writer, Producer, Director who for the past ten years has been involved with Prime Properties Real Estate where he brings his high standards and unique creativity to the sale of exceptional mountain property.
