Commentary:
The market is lightly traded this morning as everyone awaits the FOMC announcement. There is also a 5 yr
auction this morning which could put more pressure on bonds. Yesterday’s 2yr offering was absorbed pretty
easily and the hope is that today’s supply will be met with the same demand.
Mortgage applications increased last week. We usually don’t talk much about this data because weekly
numbers are inherently volatile, but it’s the only data we have so… Applications reached their highest level
since May. The increase was mostly due to an increase in refinance transactions.
