Recently I have encountered twice what I hope is not a new way of doing business.
In both cases an agent wrote an offer on a listing I had, emailed it to me, but never followed up after sending it to check that I had received it. What makes this crazy is that in one case the agent had the wrong email address and I never receive the offer. We sold the house to another buyer and 5 days later the agent calls to check on 'how the offer is going?'. "What offer?" I said. "Oh Oh", she replied. Oh Oh is right!
Now I know Im getting on in years and things in the business are changing every day but is this really what we are doing now? Just write an offer and email it in, without calling first or following up afterwards to confirm receipt.
Both times these offers were from newer agents I guess, but they were both from large 'Megaoffices', which I would assume had training programs and hands on managing brokers. I know we are leaning toward paperless transactions but are we now also going towards becoming communicationless?
