Oct 5 – Lodi News-Sentinel – Staff – “Ericksons celebrated 70th anniversary last month” – Jane and Fred Erickson
of Lodi celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 29. Married in 1940 at Carson, Nevada – the Ericksons’ four children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were part of the anniversary celebration.
Oct 8 – Stockton Record – “Kaiser clarifies Senior Advantage options” – Over 7900 people in San Joaquin County received notices from Kaiser Permanente that their Senior Advantage Medicare coverage would end on January 1, 2011. Kaiser is offering two plans for 2011, which replace the current plan. Members cannot automatically be transferred to one of the other plans, but must enroll in one of the Kaiser plans or they may select alternative carriers for coverage.
Oct 11 – Washington, AP – Stephen Ohlemacher – “No increase for Social Security recipients until at least 2012” – The government is expected to announce this week that 58 million Social Security recipients will not receive a benefit increase again this year. This would be only the second year since automatic adjustments have not been made since 1975. The average monthly benefit is $1072.
