You Enjoy Breaking the Law, Don’t You?

The Parking Saga continues. For those of you who missed Part 1, here is the link, You Can't Park Here!
Like most neighborhoods in Santa Clara County some people feel they “own” the parking spaces in front of their homes-especially in the “nicer” neighborhoods of Saratoga, Los Gatos and Willow Glen. They believe it to the tune of leaving nasty notes on the windshield claiming, "You can't park here!"
Then you look around, and you don’t SEE any "No Parking" signs.
Everyone knows you can't park at a red curb, or in front of a driveway, or too close to a fire hydrant.
But when none of those apply and there isn't a “No Parking” sign, it makes sense to park at a gray curb on a residential street, doesn't it?
As a refresher, this happened to my daughter while parked in front of a Los Gatos home.
Now I could understand if they were holding an open house or had guests coming. I'd expect they notify the neighbors and nicely ask them to leave the space open for that particular occasion.
The note cleverly addressed the lack of “No Parking” signs issue by stating, "You are parking illegally. The signs are wrong, you can't park in this space.”
She’s a smart girl. She checked with the DMV, Los Gatos and Santa Clara County websites, and with other people nearby. Yes, it’s okay to park there.
My daughter is one of the most honest, compliant, and perfectionistic people. She truly wants to do everything, and I mean everything, exactly right.
So when she told me that today’s note said, “You Enjoy Breaking the Law, Don’t You?” I burst out laughing.
Tomorrow she’ll put a note of her own on-“I checked and it’s okay to park here, sorry.” Hopefully there won’t be a part 3.
