Our Sugar Graduated

Well we are done with our doggie training classes. Sugar graduating(for the record, Noah is sitting on a stool behind Sugar)

It was an 8 week course. Our teacher Marion Shoopman told us that we were the last of the 8 week classes, they are being reduced to 6 weeks from here forward.

Did Sugar learn to look? Yes. She looks so easily now.

Did Sugar learn to sit? Yes. She is a sweet little "sitter". Just look at this adorable picture & how she just sat there while Noah put the graduation cap on her.

Did Sugar learn to stay? Yes. She can do about 45 seconds. She was taught to do 60 seconds in the class but it is not so easy for her. Teacher says she will get that in time, that we just need to keep working with her.

Did Sugar learn to leave it? Yes. Unbelieveably. I had a real life (not in class) experience with the LEAVE IT. The other morning when feeding both our dogs, Sugar accidentally knocked her bowl and about 20 kernals flew to the ground. Both dogs were sitting, waiting patiently & I told them "LEAVE IT" in my strong deep voice. A miracle happened, she did it. Neither of the dogs eat the kernels that fell to the ground which allowed me to pick them up. Yeah!!!

Did Sugar learn to walk calmly? Yes. It took us 4 collar/walking contraptions to figure out the right one, but Whoooo Hoooo. Sugar now walks with a loose leash. I love it :)

Thank you Pet Smart & Marion Shoopman!!!!
