This is the same house we Staged that needed a dining room. It was built in the 70's and we knew it could use some updating. Paint was a big part of this transformation and it didn't stop in the living/dining room.
The kitchen needed some updating as well. It had the old dark brown wood cupboards and it made the room look very dark. So we brought in our Resource Binder and our client went through it to get some help. She chose one of the painters from our RB to come in and paint the inside and outside of cupboards and he gave her a fantasic price. New hardware was put on the drawers and doors of the cupboards. The ceiling light plates were replaced as well as the cutting board and the knobs on the stove. A new dishwasher was found on Craiglist and the Kitchen update was complete.
Only one thing more that would make a big difference...the doors in the hallway. They were the same dark brown wood. A quick change to new 6 panels and new hardware and they hardly looked the same.
So here is the results:

Linda ~ this is a very dramatic kitchen transformation! The old kitchen was a tear-down and now it looks fresh and updated. What a great job!
Maureen, Thanks for the compliment, coming from you that means a lot to me. You always do beautiful Staging that I truly admire!!! Thanks for stopping by.
OMG!!!! Wow, what a transformation. The kitchen is beautiful. What a great before and after for your portfolio. Congratulations on stellar staging!!!
In a word: Beautiful!
This is a perfect set of before and after pictures that allows sellers to understand just how impactful staging can be.
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
Wow! Why are people so resistant to painting? These photos would be very persuasive to a reluctant seller who's a-skeered of paint.
Hi Linda, I have only had one client paint their cabinets. This is a before and after that speaks volumes about the reasons why you need to do this job. Unbelievable difference!
Chrissie, Thank you so much for the compliments. Yes we were thankful everything came out so well and that our client agreed to have the extra work done to make the difference.
Kathy, Thank you, yes after it was done it made a great first impression. Sellers really need to have their homes in showcase condition in order to be the best product on the market.
Thank you Kathy for featuring my before and after pictures to the group!
Wendy, I think sometimes there is a fear of changel Plus the sellers can get so overwhelmed when their house is for sale. Everything comes at them at once. It will be great to have these pictures when that comes up again. Thanks for commenting.
Michelle, Thanks, This is the only time that a client has painted their cabinets since we started Staging. I will definitely keep these photos available in case this ever comes up again. Thank you for the encouragement.
Wow! This is awesome! You did a super job on this one.
Linda: The transformation of part I and part II is simply amazing! Really terrific job that deserves the quick sale you received.
Monique, The homeowner was so thrilled with the results of the Staging...it was all the prep work that was challenging...but well worth it in the end.
Debra, Thank you, All of us as Stagers really do want the very best for our clients and their homes. I am thankful this client understood that the few changes that we made were to enhance her home and get it sold.
This is the perfect example of how paint can transform a space. I literally said "wow" to the kitchen after picture. Thanks for sharing this. It looks fantastic!
Kate, Thank you for your comment. As Stagers we really do strive to get that WOW factor with every home we Stage. Some transformations have a little more WOW then others.
Linda, as I read the text, and looked at the "before" photo, I realized there would be a pretty significant change with the suggestions you were making. But....I was still taken by surprise at the dramatic difference! Wow!! You really have helped your clients with something that would probably have been difficult without your guidance. Great job!
Linda,
Great job. I am in the process of helping clients with renovating their kitchen along with other rooms and can hardly wait for the work to be completed and the after shots.
They are using my kitchen contractor to replace the counter tops, and we are adding an eating area in the space currently taken up with guinea pigs, by adding a circular wood table and chairs I sourced for them at Habitat Restore. Great buy!
We are keeping it white and adding white and black backsplash tiles above the sink and the countertop stove: these were also found at the Habitat Restore; changing the hardware and the flooring and adding a red toile valance to the window.
It is a fun process.
Peg, Thank you, the results are great for our Portfolio so we can show future clients what can be done. You don't always have to completely remodel a kitchen everytime, you might just need to paint and do a few little extras to get a fresh new look. It really depends on the house!
My client when we first started talking about it said as many do...Why should I do anything to the kitchen someone will just come in after me and rip it all out and put in a new kitchen. That's where before and after pictures help them see that if something isn't done they might not find a buyer who would put in a new kitchen without a significant price reduction. Thanks for your comment Peg, I really appreciate it.
Sharon, WOW, your project sounds so exciting!!! I have never Staged a home that went through a major remodel before. Your clients are sure fortunate to have found you, you are very resourceful. I am excited for you already and haven't even seen the results, which I know will be fantastic from the work that you do!!! Keep me posted.
Oh by the way that was a new one for me hearing that guinea pigs were getting prime real estate in the kitchen!!! LOL
Great job...Gotta love those old narrow hallways with the dark wood doors, many children would be affraid to walk down there...Such an improvement.
Kimberley, Thank you. Even as an adult I don't find the dark hallways appealing...let alone the children. Good point, with your permission I will have to use that on my next consult!!! Thanks for the comment.
Super job Linda, I really enjoyed all your before and afters, thanks for sharing.
Ana
Those doors...every 70's and 80's subdivision has them and every homeowner needs to, at a minimum paint them white, and preferably do what you convinced your sellers to do, SO MUCH BETTER!
Nice job. That Microwave looks like it might be one of the recalled ones. Check if the serial number begins with XC. If so, it's recalled. However, if it has a green square sticker next to the serial number, it has been repaired and is okay.
Love when the wood can just be painted out to make such an amazing difference! Looks bright and clean now, fantastic.
I really like that. I love wood, but I really love all-white kitchens. Most kitchens around here are just too small to do dark wood.
Linda, wonderful transformation. The kitchen looks brighter and much more inviting.
Ana, Thank you for the compliment, that is really nice of you to say.
Cheryl, The doors were an easy fix...we tried to make the most impact with the least investment.
Russel, Thank you for letting me know about the microwave...I will pass on the information.
Lisa, Thank you, the kitchen cabinets turned out great. We all sat back afterwards and couldn't believe our eyes.
Jim, Those old wood cabinets really made the room dark...the minute you walked in you wanted out. Thanks for your comment.
Tanya, Thank you for your compliment. Our client said when we first approached her about painting; "Why should we paint the new buyers will just change the kitchen anyway when they buy the house". We said; "If you don't paint you might not get a buyer". So she called the painter!!!
