Piedmont Pines

The Robinson Team at Coldwell Banker serves the East Bay and San Francisco.

Introducing: Piedmont Pines, a woodsy neighborhood in the hills of Oakland, CA.

Piedmont Pines is one of the most desirable locations in the Bay Area. This is a residential district in Oakland, California with staggeringly beautiful bay views. It is generally bounded by Highway 13 (the Warren Freeway) to the west, Shepherd Canyon Rd. to the north, Skyline Dr. to the east, Castle Dr. to the southeast, and Joaquin Miller Park to the south. There are trees on every street-as the pines gradually die off, they're being replaced by California natives and oaks. Homes are nestled into hillsides along the twisty streets, and sidewalks are few. Of the homes in Piedmont Pines, '60s-style ranchers prevail, although there are a few Craftsmans, and Tudors scattered throughout. Two Oakland public schools are included in the area, Montera Middle School and Joaquin Miller Elementary School. There is no business section in Piedmont Pines. Some people, even some city locals, have never heard of Piedmont Pines and consider this area to be just another part of the Montclair district. Where you will find shopping, cafés, and restaurants are an easy jaunt away at Montclair Village, just down Mountain Boulevard..

This quiet, elegant neighborhood has a lot of character. By tradition, people paint a set of rocks at the entrance to Piedmont Pines with birthday wishes, wedding tidings, and other messages. Messages that are soon pained over with new messages.

Community members work hard together to constantly upgrade their neighborhood, brainstorming on the active neighborhood association's website about such issues as emergency preparedness, utility undergrounding, and lost orange tabbies.
