Jeff, we have a place similar to that Portland Connecticut. Every time I drive by it, it takes me back in time.
George - It's a very cool looking place, and it's been there for many years. I have yet to actually eat there, but someday. I love the mural. And yes, these places do take us back...further than we, perhaps, want to go.
Jeff
That is so cool. I love these types of murals. I visited Canada (via my husband's home town in Michigan). They had several buildings with these types of murals. My favorite was one with cars parked along the bottom edge. It looked like an extension of the parking it was beside. It was so believable! =)
A bit of nostaligia that drew me to Calforninia in the fist place. I used to dream in terms of those pictures. Love it and I will even go and see this one live. BTW, I went to the Encina Power Plant Friday afternoon plant and got some great photos. Now to write it up. More news on the Desalination plant.
Lisa - There are murals like this is many places I have visited, too. i alwasy enjoy seeing them and wondering who painted them, how long they have been there, etc.
Thanks William - look forward to reading more about the new plant. Have a great holiday (doesn;t feel like it to me, though).
Jeff
Hey, Jeff.
I can't believe you've never eaten there. I ate there the first time way back in 1993, and I've been a regular whenever I'm in the area. I just ate there for a late lunch a week ago when I was up at Quail Botanical Gardens. I think I can recommend everything on the menu except the desserts. I can't recommend the desserts because I've never had any of them. I'm not a dessert guy.
Jeff,
If you like murals, check out Chemainus on Vancouver Island. The whole town is like that with a west coast theme.
Russel - I know, others have said that. I am sstill eating my way through Carlsbad and Encinitas. If I go I WILL check out the desserts - I AM a dessert guy, esp. chocolate. :)
Terry - sounds cool. Any pics?
Jeff
