March 15, 2009: Ontario Home Market Activity

Thirty-eight Ontario homes were listed for sale during the week ending March 14, 2009, and 35 homes entered escrow, according to the Inland Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service.

A total of 615 Ontario homes were listed for sale in the MLS on March 15. Included are 382 single-family homes. There were 233 condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes in homeowner associations listed for sale in Ontario on March 15; 285 homes were reported as vacant.

The MLS showed 157 foreclosed, or Real Estate Owned, homes listed in Ontario on March 15; 232 others were in pre-foreclosure - listed as "in foreclosure," Notice of Default or Short Pay/Subject to Lender. Please note: The MLS only recently required the type of sale of listed homes to be reported when a listing is entered into the system; the numbers of homes in foreclosure or having a Notice of Default - both of which likely would have short payoffs - does not included previously listed homes.

There were 14 Ontario homes reported as sold in the MLS in the week ending March 14, 2009.
