When Vegas Bob was a teenager and lived in Portland Oregon many moons ago, he use to travel up and down the Oregon & California Coastline. Ever year VB would spend about one month hiking in the Redwoods, playing alone the beaches, etc. Most of VB's travels were done by himself because his family lived back in Minnesota around 2000 miles away.
One of VB's favorite towns was Orick California, right in the middle of one of the HUGEST Redwood National Parks in the World. Back when VB traveled through Orick, there was no Redwood National Park and workers use to cut these HUGE Redwood Trees down for a living, "Times changed" and now these trees are protected by the Federal Government.
The little town of Orick has a population of about 100 people, and hasn't really changed much in the last 30 years. Here are two photographs that I took several weeks ago on my last visit to Orick California, the photo at the top is a lagoon by the beach & the photo below is of the beach in Orick. Notice the FOG in both photos, Orick is aways like this because the Redwood Trees produce their own moisture to survive and there are hundreds of thousands of Redwood Trees surrounding Orick California.
