It's back! The 26th annual California Strawberry Festival will take place form 10 AM to 6:30 PM Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17 2009 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park, 3250 Rose Ave, Oxnard.
Anything, and everything strawberry that you can think of, and probably several you would never think of, will be there. The event features vendors selling strawberry based food and drink, cooking, and berry decorating demonstrations, as well as fine arts and crafts booths.
There will be a children "Jest in Time" tent, with puppet shows, comedy, juggling, magic, and the Star Berry Hunt. Musical groups will be performing all day on two stages.
Free park and ride express shuttles will be available, check the website below for more info. Amtrak offers a special festival weekend "kids ride free" discount promotion. There is limited on site parking available for $5.
General admission is $12, seniors 62 and up $6, and kids aged 5-12 are $5. Children under 5 are free. Active military and Dependants with ID are $8.
The event provides funds for local nonprofit organizations, scholarships, and philanthropic grants. Plus, it is FUN!

Hi Carol, I hope that the Strawberry Festival was delicious. One of my favorite times of year - I love strawberries - they are delicious - and so good for you also.
My kids would have LOVED this event! They love strawberries so much that I should have invested in a strawberry field! hahahaha So this year, when planting our vegetable and fruit garden, I planted quite a few strawberries. They go out and look for the buds to bloom every single day, waiting for the strawberries to grow. I sooooooo hope they grow! Otherwise, I'm gonna be in BIG trouble! hahahahah
