Owners will have 60 days to comply with the new regulations and register their homes with the city of Palm Springs. Some of the rules include:
Limits on number of people staying overnight and occupying the house during the day.
The owner or someone representing the owner must be available at all times and respond to complaints within 45 minutes.
Trash must be stored in city containers and only visible on Palm Springs trash collection days.
Each property's owner must pay bed taxes each month to the city.
For Palm Springs residents not complying with the new law, fines will start at $250 for the first offense and four or more violations within a two year time period could result in the vacation-rental certificate being revoked.
