Sunset from 35,000 Feet - California Coast

Since I retired from Delta Air Lines, many people have asked if I miss it. Yes - parts of it.

One of the things I miss most are the incredible sights we used to enjoy while flying high above the clouds. Every moment was unique as we sped past an ever changing vista of clouds and light.

One evening, just before sunset, we were flying north, up the coast of California. The coastline itself was shrouded in clouds but the ocean was showing through in places. Then, just before the sun sank below the horizon, it lit up the Pacific Ocean like it was a cauldron full of pure molten gold.

Yes - I do miss it.
