Virgin America Airlines begins flying in and out of Orange County, California ... John Wayne Airport.
We live and work about 15 minutes from this airport, and the idea sounds good to me.
Perhaps it's because we have some of the best climate in the United States and the world ... with sunshine almost all year and on lots of winter days.
Maybe it's the beachgoing weather for sun and sand during spring, summer and the fall.
And could possibly be because of our many healthy businesses that employ lots of people and support the local economy.
Virgin announced introductory $49 one way fares to and from the SF Bay Area.
Richard Branson, shareholder of Virgin America, and others seemed to enjoy themselves at the press coverage and kick off party.
