SLO Is #9 Best Place to Live in 2007

San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles made it to the top 10 best places to live again! When compared to more than 400 U.S. metropolitan cities, being 9th is not to be taken lightly, especially when San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles is the only Californian city to reach the top 10. Santa Barbara came in 12th position, while Oxnard/Ventura is placed at 22nd, and Napa at 26th respectively. See the following Top 50 Best Places to Live in 2007, as tabled below.

According to USA Today, criteria used for judging by Cities Ranked & Rated include economy and jobs; cost of living; climate; education; healthcare; crime; transportation; leisure; arts and culture; and overall quality of life. This year's winner is Gainesville, Florida. The 2007 list can be found in the 848-page book that's authored jointly by Bert Sperling of Sperling's Best Places and Frommer guidebook writer Peter Sanders.
