Do You Get The BPO Blues?

Over the past few years most Real Estate Agents have made completing Broker Price Opinions (BPO) a part of their income stream. Let's face it, for some Agents and I know a few, it is their only income source.

Well I don't know about you but BPO's sometimes give me the blues! It all starts when I realize that I have probaly taken on more orders than should be humanly possible to do alone. Yes, I too like so many others bite off more than I can chew. Instead of giving myself a limit, I grab as many BPO's as I can without taking into consideration the "burn out" factor! You look at your que and all of those $45.00 orders start to add up to a nice size paycheck. Next thing you know, you have 25 orders to complete in a couple of days...Yikes! Now there are some smart folks who have their own mini BPO mill running but, I am not one of them. I do get help on pictures, me and my partners snap photo's for each other for orders all the time. The completion of the report however is totally on me.

When I finally get into my report completing mode, I get on a roll with the first few. But when I get to number 5 or 6 I begin to say to myself "what was I thinking grabbing all these reports". No matter how many breaks I take beyond completing 7 reports in one day the regret factor sets in. I think wow I must have experienced a moment of temporary insanity when I accepted all of these doggone reports! By day 2 I am feeling like a school kid whose got to finish the 20 page report and I am trying to think up excuses to tell someone as to why these reports won't be finished on time. NO WAIT, I can't do that! So, I trudge through and complete the rest. I always tell myself I am going to have to get some help or stop taking too many orders. But that never happens and the next thing I know I am giving myself the BPO Blues all over again!
