O.C. shoppers purchased 2,880 residences for the 22 business days ending September 14. The buying
activity for that period was down 0.6% from last year.
August was the 14th straight month of sales gains compared to the year-ago period.
Less than half of O.C. ZIPs had year-over-year sales gains in the period. Only 40 out of 83 ZIP codes has sales gains.
The median selling price is down 3.4% from a year ago, coming in at $425,000. Prices have been falling on a year-over-year basis since September 2007. Currently single family homes are selling for 33% less than their peak pricing.
