SUCCESS and YOU- Part II

YOU CANNOT POSSESS THAT WHAT YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PURSUE

However you will not stumble into success, more than you wouldn't earn retirement at 25 years of age, or the gates of Heaven for that matter, given the fact that success is not an event, but a lifelong journey, a succession of events along the pathway of life. You cannot possess that which you are not willing to persistently and relentlessly pursue, plan and prepare to endure regardless of pain and perseverance in order to achieve their goals.

Success escapes the majority of Americans. Ron Blue, in his book, Master your Money, states "According to the Office of Social Security, only 2% of Americans reach age sixty-five with two hundred dollars in the bank"¹, fathom, if you could, the idea of working during a lapse of forty-five years in an environment where the 98% of your peers, including yourself, will not be able to save twenty dollars per year, then, I will ask you again the same piercing question:"What is Success?

Ask the same question to the next handful of people you will see, and for your amazement, after listening closely their answers, you will get a rate of six different opinions for every five people. I know because after the question I have had five people and looking straight to me in the eyes they have said something along this lines:

1. Success is when I retire, or
2. Success is winning the Lotto, or
3. Success is reaching my goals, or
4. Success is when my last child leaves home and the dog dies, and
5. so the list goes on…
