The Months of Inventory for May increased by 30%, +0.56 months over the last report. Twenty-three East Bay communities had an increase and only four had a decrease.
The reason for the increase in inventory of homes for sale compared to the number of pending sales over the last thirty days may be partly due to the federal government's tax deductions for first time and repeat buyers that expired April 30th. Still in effect are tax incentives offered by the state.
The recent decline in interest rates to 5% or lower should have a positive effect on June's market activity.
San Ramon, California only has a 1.76 month supply of homes for sale. Danville, CA has a 2.36 supply of homes for sale.
