Current mortgage rate trends remained flat today as investors are waiting to see what will happen with our debt ceiling issue. If you are closing your loan in 7 days or less I recommend you lock. If you are closing in more than 7 days I recommend you float but do so cautiously. Any news can cause bond investors to sell their bonds driving mortgage rates higher.
