Disaster Relief for the California Fire Victims

President Bush has signed a Disaster Declaration for funding for people who have lost homes that may not be covered by insurance.

Last night I spoke with my neighbor who manages claims adjustment offices for Allstate Insurance in California. They have additional staff flying in today who will be heading out in self-contained motorhomes to set up portable offices in the fire areas. Loss is never easy but knowing that there is money to help rebuild will give hope.

As the winds calm, as the fires are being contained, we cannot forget the thousands of people who have lost so much.

If you know of ways that we can reach out to those who have been affected by these horrible fires, please share. Active Rain can be one of the most powerful ways we can organize and mobilize assistance.
