The number of mortgage default notices in Stanislaus County jumped last month. According to an article in Thursday September 15th Modesto Bee, default notices in Modesto rose 70% in August as compared to July. Nearly 11% of mortgages in Stanislaus County are 90 days or more late. Merced and San Joaquin counties are even worse off.

There are lots of reasons why there are so many people behind in their mortgage payments. The list of reasons includes job losses, medical bills, divorce and many others.
