The North County Transit District is offering free late-night rail and bus rides plus an extended rail schedule on New Year's Eve.
"Party-goers are encouraged to take the responsible route to New Year's Eve festivities by taking FREE late-night trains and buses," the agency said in a press release Thursday.
Tickets won't be necessary Dec. 31 after 6 p.m. on Breeze buses, Sprinter light rail and Coaster trains.
An extra Coaster train will depart at 12:45 a.m. from San Diego's Santa Fe Depot, stopping at North County stations and terminating in Oceanside.
Also, an extra eastbound Sprinter train will leave from Oceanside at 2:03 a.m., shortly after the Coaster arrives.
The Sprinter line runs from Oceanside to Escondido.
San Diego's Metropolitan Transit System is also offering extended trolley service, creating connections for North County residents who want to take the Coaster to reach their celebrations in the city, of San Diego.
