Loving Real Estate in a Hard Market

Loving Real Estate in a Hard Market

Real estate is a tough business. My mother, Silicon Valley real estate legend Judy Carr, always said, "If real estate was easy everyone would do it."

No matter what is happening, foreclosures, short sales, 25 percent interest rates, everyone still needs a place to live.

No other investment, not stocks, gold, or bonds, literally lets you live in it.

Even in a hard market, people need a home to live in. You could rent someone else's for $3,000 or buy your own for $3,000 per month. But at the end of the year, you get a big tax break on the one you own.

That is one reason I am loving real estate in a hard market.
