No Short Sales This Valentines Day at Half Moon Bay Ca
Sometimes friends and family need to come before business. That was true on this Valentines Day. After working a bit out of the home office in the morning it was off to the coast for the day. The spot Kelly and I were heading to was Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay is a small town on the coast about 30 miles south of San Francisco. It's a nice place to go when you want to get near the water and relax, especially during the week.

Our first stop was the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company for a couple of adult beverages and an appetizer. I enjoyed the Bootlegger's Brown Ale very much. So much that I had two. We de
cided to sit inside today instead of on the patio as it was a bit cool and windy out. HMB Brewing Co sits right on the water and has a great view. I have been to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company many times before and have never been disappointed. Coincidentally the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is owned by a couple from my home town of Turlock.
After leaving the HMB Brewing Company we walked down on the beach for a while. While the wind was blowing the sun was shining and it wasn't too cold. The beach was covered with lots and lots of shells. We also found a few pieces of sea glass. We also saw a couple seals sunning themselves. All that walking on the beach helped us to work up an appetite, which was a good thing since we had dinner reservations just up the road.

Our Valentines dinner was at the Miramar Beach Restaurant. The Miramar Beach Restaurant, originally know as the Ocean Beach Hotel was originally designed and built as a Prohibition roadhou
se. This was one of the dropping off points for "rum runners" during that era. Half Moon Bay was ideal for this as it was secluded yet close enough to San Francisco to transport the illegal goods by car.
On this night Kelly and I both chose the Surf and Turf, a Fillet Mignon and Lobster tail. (Hey, it was Valentines day!) I hadn't had lobster in a few years and this was the first time Kelly had had lobster tail. The dinner was excellent and the service was just as good. Maybe in another year we will have lobster again. And for dessert I had some decadent Tiramisu.
After dinner it was time to get back to reality and the Central Valley. The good thing is that Half Moon Bay is just about 90 minutes away and a very easy drive. I'm looking forward to a return trip in the not too distant future. All in all it was a great Valentines Day.
