An afternoon in the city

Marin County and the Bay Area have had amazing weather the last few days. My sister and her family were in town over the weekend, so on Saturday, we all jumped on board the Larkspur ferry for a trip to San Francisco. The Saturday ferries run a little slower, so the trip was about an hour. We enjoyed the leisurely trip, taking in all of the beautiful sights on the San Francisco Bay.

We stopped and grabbed lunch at the Ferry Building- delicious burgers at Taylor's Refreshers. We then set out on our walk, probably about 8 blocks, to the Yerba Buena Skating and Bowling Center, a delightful place for families. The center is located next to Moscone Convention Center. If you have been to a convention in San Francisco, you probably were at Moscone. Yerba Buena has skating, bowling, a carousel, and the Zeum- an art and technology museum for kids. It also has a great outdoor park, perfect on a gorgeous sunny day like we had on Saturday.

San Francisco is such a beautiful city. I wanted to share the pictures of our outing on gorgeous, spring like day!

Hi Ginger - I visited San Francisco about ten years ago and though it was a beautiful city. Of course I road on the famous trolly :)

Ginger - I remember what a lovely city San Franisco is from when I went there on vacation a few years back.  Great presentation--did you do the slideshow yourself?

Hi Ginger,
Sounds like a wonderful day for you and your sisters' family.  I love San Francisco...it is a wonderful city.  Great photos.

I have great memories of hanging in San Fran with my wife while we were dating. I can't remember ever being there and thinking "What's wrong with the weather here?" We like it cool...

Next time, we take our kids to the ZEUM. Thanks for the good info.

I really enjoyed this post. I am beginning to think I live in Greenland with all the cold, and snow.

The City looks nice.

Sincerely

Hi Ginger! That's a great show. I've never been to San Francisco, but my husband was there for a week once in school and loved it! Maybe one of these days...

Ginger- What a great real estate show that brought back wonderful memories when I lived in San Francisco, one of my favorite cities that I have lived in.

BILL- I still like the trolley, although I prefer the California street one vs. the Hyde street which goes to Fisherman's Wharf.  That is just too touristy!

CANDY-  Yes, I made the slideshow using Real Estate Shows.  It is super easy and inexpensive too!!

CYNTHIA- I couldn't believe the weather. I am always cold, yet I was wearing short sleeves!!

JOEY- If you come with your kids, let me know.  I will provide you with the insider list of places to go with kids!

TOM- We have had a lot of rain, and I am sure it will return soon.  Have to take advantage of it while we can.  The spring flowers will be confused when it gets cold again!!

LINDA- so nice to see you.  Please come visit and I will show you the sights.  San Francisco is a beautiful city. Tourists love it, but there are so many wonderful things to do that tourists never find too.

KATERINA- I have lived here for ten years now, and can't imagine leaving!!

Great pictures, thanks for posting! I see that you used Real Estate Home Shows to do your slide presentation... aren't there free easy to use programs out there? Maybe you could do a members only blog about the different slide presentations available? Just an idea. Thanks again for the lovely photos!

DAWN- I am sure there are free programs, but I love Real Estate Shows, it is well worth the cost, which is minimal.
