Hey locals, have you explored the paradise that is in our backyard lately? If not, I decided to give you just a small taste of what you're missing. You can get a Mt. Diablo trail map at REI, at the ranger stations and at most bookstores. I got mine at
Clayton Book Store in Clayton. For anyone new to Contra Costa, you have a real treat in store for you. This is the back side of Mt. Diablo, frankly I think the more beautiful side. Its got trails ranging from rustic and steep, to just slightly sloping fire roads. Get out there and enjoy the day!
You can also learn more and get information on hikes for any level at :
Mt. Diablo Interpretive Association

Hi Catherine,
Well it looks like a very beautiful place to spend a weekend with a special someone.
Catherine - BEAUTIFUL! You are so fortunate to live in such an awesome area.
Catherine, beautiful photographs!!! Did you take them? Which slide show is this, photobucket? Good job!!
Mary, you're right! This is the trail that starts just across the street from my house.. its beautiful!
Teri, yes I took them today, it was so beautiful today it was hard to resist a walk. I used picasa for the slide show. I have picasa on my computer and it helps me organize photos on my laptop, then you can upload to web album and then voila, "embed" as a slideshow. You probably know about picasa, its a free program.
Catherine, well you did a great job. I have picasa........I'll have to try this approach. Beautiful!!!
Hey Catherine - I think you're trying to make me jealous of what I'm missing while I'm sitting here on a grey, rainy day!
Well Don, we'd love to have you back for a visit! Anytime!
