Check out this latest We Stage Sacramento Staging SUCCESS Story!
We were contacted to Stage a very dated 1970's house in the area, that was full of wood - flooring, paneling, huge wood bar, etc. The sellers had done some updating and remodeling through the years - mostly in the Master bath. The house had a great floorplan for entertaining, and a wonderful location with a golf course and cul-de-sac location. We worked our magic - and the house SOLD the first week it was on the market!
The best news . . . the buyers are having us Stage their house they are selling - AND we picked up another job from this listing - a house in the neighborhood that has been languishing Vacant on the market since January!
Here are some before/after sets for you to enjoy!

Dated carpeting - and HUGE Living Room with very high ceilings.

Solution: Nice grouping of full-size furniture with console table on wood paneling to help "soften" the wood - and still have a pathway to the backyard.

Huge wood bar and "area" that was sort of undefined.

Staged the bar with decor and furnishings, and put a grouping of furniture in "undefined" area - to make it a useful sitting area.

This is the formal dining room - that is very open and is part of the pathway from the front door to the kitchen.

Area rug to help anchor the space, formal table and artwork on the long wall to add color.
Throughout the house, we used greenery (trees, etc.) to help soften the amount of wood.

Wow.. It looks great!! Congratulations!
Sales for homes valued at over one million dollars in California are only down about .05%
as opposed to those under 500k which are down 26%
kudos on the staging though!
You made all that wood much more appealing, Jennie. Good choice of furniture & accessories for this house.
Kathy
Hi Randy,
Thanks for your feedback - and I know the higher end market in California is surprisingly moving a bit better than the rest of the market - laregly because most of the foreclosures are in the mid-low range categories. But I'd like to know what the stat is for our particular region. Lumping the entire state together - we all know the Southern California market has not slowed like ours has - even though there are trouble spots. I would predict that in Placer County (where I live) the high end market has slowed - there is a year backlog on the books, but some areas still are seeing good activity.

I like the sales price. Congratulations on a job well done. I have a vacant house here that needs to be staged also.
Congrats to you. Love the sales price too! The staging looks really nice!
Thanks for the feedback so far - I am not getting email triggers when someone replies so I had not idea until this a.m. that you had all shared feedback. And for Robert in Michigan, there are many wonderful Stagers serving your area - I hope you connect with one to help you with your vacant house.
- Jennie
Nice job. I guess the market is not as dead as advertised, that is good.
You really know your stuff!
Great success story! That is great that you also received two other staging jobs and a Featured Post. I am so happy for you and your clients. Way to go!!
Well done!! That's a huge WIN for you and for the staging industry. See - it DOES make a difference.
Congratulations. Staging usually helps ALOT, and you have just shown all of us that it works... again. May everything continue to go smoothly for you with this transaction... Hat's off.

beautiful job! It looks great!
Wow that made a LOT of difference.
Great job! It looked great!
Jennie, great job filling the space, congrats on the extra business too!
You know, in a house that large, with all the large walls, ceilings, your staging tactics worked wonders and helped any lookers see what could work for them. Well done!
wow, great work, I will definitely pass your info on to all my contact in the Bay area.
John
Those changes made a huge difference... great job!
Room - especially vacant ones - really need a focus. You did a great job on that, Jennie, and congratulations on your success.
Great job--I liked seeing how you "filled" such big open spaces and awkwardly defined spaces, without having to use that much. It's keeping that fine line of staging and decorating separate--Thanks for sharing!
Great job! You did a wonderful job, I see why it sold so quickly.
jennie, What a great idea to show the before and after pictures. Excellent work!
Thank you everyone! Keep the comments coming! Success stories are great to share because I don't believe they are "unique" for our market - when a house is priced right, and staged, it sells! - Jennie
You did a great job with a difficult task. It is truly amazing what a difference those photos show.
That looks fantastic. Congratulation on picking up more business on a job well done.
Jennie, This house looks huge! How many square feet, and forgive me if someone already asked the questions. It looks great!
Diane Concialdi
CONGRATS JENNIE!!
Randy, that's great stats there. It's definitely something to think about. I just toured 4 $500,000 homes today in the bay area, it's a bit depressing to see how long they have sat in the market and how low the prices have dropped. Needless to say they weren't staged at all.
Cindy
Jennie, Just stopping by to say Hello. I was in your ASP staging class in Evansville,Indiana. Remember me? Your family is beautiful. Congratualtions on the staging and quick sale. Your former student- Vickie from KY
Congratulations on a job well done and getting that house sold. Now on to the next one.
That is so exciting! Congrats to you and your clients! It can make a world of difference when the client trusts in your ability to bring a property to it's potential.
Great job!
Congratulations!
Nicely done!
Congratulation It is amazing how with just a little bit of effort and a good eye you can make the difference with staging a home. I use a home stager with every one of my listings. Sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't the ones that listen sell their home faster.
Congrats and good job. Out of curiosity, what was the home worth in late 2006?
Dane - house was about 3,700 square feet.
Paul - in 2006, that same house would have gone for about 15-20% more. It is a unique property in an area that does tend to hold values, but overall the market has gone down an average about 18% in the last year, to as high as 26% in some areas.
- Jennie
That would be a triple home run - nice. Will be waiting to see the next two in photos.
Congratulations, you did a great job!
Thanks ALL! What a great response to the success story - and I appreciate all the feedback! I will be posting the images of the other houses - we just set the appointment for the 3rd staging that will happen next week . . . the 2nd house is complete as well. YEAH! - Jennie
Congrats Jenny! I love that dining room, the artwork really pops!
That turned out so nicely!!! Congrats on the quick turn, too! =) The bar area is my favorite...very inviting. Looking forward to the other homes.
This is one big home. My goodness all that space!
